The UK’s experimental synth‑pop and dark electronic project IAMX has released a brand new single and official music video, "Artificial Innocence". The track marks a shift from the Fault Lines era and opens the door to the next creative chapter of Chris Corner’s long‑running artistic venture. Originally appearing only on the tour‑exclusive CD and vinyl release UNMASK, the song has evolved from a B-side curiosity into a tense, synth‑driven darkwave anthem.
With "Artificial Innocence", Chris Corner delivers one of his most emotionally charged performances in recent years. The track’s stark, confessional lyrics explore themes of submission, control, and emotional detachment, carried by soaring vocals and a relentless electronic pulse. The result is a piece that feels both intimate and confrontational — a powerful statement for longtime followers and an enticing entry point for listeners drawn to darker electronic soundscapes.
The accompanying official music video embraces the fiercely independent art‑punk ethos that has defined IAMX from the beginning. Filmed in the vast Southern California desert, Corner crafts striking monochrome visuals using little more than an iPhone, DIY costuming, and mirrors. The video follows contortionist and performer Katy Mikelle alongside Corner through a sun‑drenched, surreal landscape, unfolding as a sensual, visceral, and unflinchingly intense journey.
IAMX will bring Artificial Innocence to the stage this spring. The Artificial Innocence Tour begins on 14 March with a top‑billed performance at Germany’s EoNLY Festival in Leipzig, followed by thirteen dates across Europe — many in cities IAMX has not visited for several years. Support on the tour comes from Stockholm‑based hauntwave artist Aux Animaux.
Later in the year, IAMX will appear at several major festivals, including the legendary M’era Luna in Hildesheim (8–9 August) and a headlining slot at Manchester’s Infest (21–23 August). In autumn, IAMX returns to Germany for UNITY 2026, sharing the lineup with VNV Nation and Zeromancer. UNITY will take place in Oberhausen (18–19 September) and Berlin (2–3 October).
