UK darkwave/gothic rock duo Vampire Valentine return with a new single, "Tears", a track that dives unapologetically into the shadows of modern darkwave. Built on atmospheric production, haunting vocals, and a mood steeped in emotional decay, "Tears" captures the weight of a shared past—one stained by memories two people try to burn away while their favourite song still echoes in the background.
Speaking about the release, Vampire Valentine explain: "The reason we wanted to release this track is I think we all feel like this is our sound and we're sticking to it, we want people to hear it."
"Tears" marks a defining moment for the duo as they sharpen their sonic identity: reverb‑soaked, emotionally raw, and firmly rooted in the contemporary darkwave tradition. It follows the release of their debut album, Dry Remains, which arrived in January and introduced their bleak, immersive aesthetic to the scene.
With "Tears", Vampire Valentine continue carving out their place in the modern gothic underground—uncompromising, evocative, and unmistakably their own. Link
