The Sarcophagus is a very well known band worldwide, in the scene since 1996, in other words they came from the second wave of black metallers. This album was kind of an “angular stone”, with 10 tracks and 50 minutes of playing time of such an execution that made them reach the top of Turkish black metal and why not say in almost all world scene. The Sarcophagus are a great occult black metal band and if you are addicted to the occult and raw black metal, you should check it out and support this great pioneers of Turkish black metal scene.

The Unknown is a very adventurous album, it's musically so very strong and boisterously creative as it can get, but it's still so very dark, maybe the gloomiest album they ever did. Not only from the musical side, also lyrical wise this album marks something new, there's no more talk about different horror classics and fictional legends, The Unknown is more metaphoric and speaks on a personal level while facing the personal demons and fears, it's much closer to musicians personal lives, and so everything reflects in music which became a bit more emotional and lively. The Unknown is a dark metal album that rejects any kind of direct labeling as it is so very diverse, versatile, uniting furious extreme elements on the very edge of death or even black metal with glorious elegance of gothic metal, but there are signs also of doom, medieval, neoclassical, theatrical and horror music. Everything is well packed into one compact dense mass of sound that hits the listener with powerful vibrations.

Band: Todtgelichter

While they stick loyal to their formula of a minimalistic cover artwork and "one word" album title, music is far away from that, it has so many different elements, constant changes from one mood into another, it's multi layered, rich, yet melodic and atmospheric, with quite a lot of melancholy and almost theatrical grips. From track to track you'll be feeling just like walking from one room into another. Todtgelichter with this album are on a mission to take the throne of avantgarde metal. Great complex guitar riffing and solos, amazing drumming, strong bass lines and devilish screams combined with quite emotive clean vocals are without any doubt worth all the respect even from the most demanding type of listeners. Rooms is one of the most elaborated albums this band did so far, it's dark enough, it embraces with kind of shifts between coldness and warmth.

It's not that often that you hear this kind of mixture between emotion and aggression so stunningly put together. This band simply deserves more attention from fans of divergent metal music. The Pulse Of Mourning is nothing else but a rollercoaster of emotions, a professionally done album from each and every aspect. The new offering from Thurisaz serves with nine songs that often go beyond all normal boundaries of metal genre. The basis of their musical output is still doom, death and black metal, let's say it's dark metal in some strange way, but done with an avantgardish spirit so often reaching the borders of progressive rock, post-metal and post-rock, even a huge dose of melancholy that is present all over in those beautifully arranged melodies makes most of the songs truly unforgettable, sometimes making your skin going goose bumps and leaves you breathless. It's a release that will captivate your mind from the ominous opening on, through all those memorable clean choruses, groovy climaxes, until the calm melancholic ambiances of the closing track.

When Finnish guitarist Juha Raivio (Swallow The Sun) and Sweden-based, South African-born singer Aleah Starbridge got together in the studio when Swallow The Sun recorded their seminal album New Moon, and soon after that in 2009 formed an acoustic project Trees Of Eternity, I guess that nobody knew what kind of fate would follow them. You must already know that Aleah died from cancer on 18th April 2016 at age 39, right after she recorded vocal lines for the debut album, Hour Of The Nightingale. This album is pure melancholia and sadness, it reflects that beauty in darkness, it's one of the most emotional albums you might have heard recently, it's a sound of a wounded siren from the spirit world, a message to the ones who were left behind, it's a personal drama, full of pain and beyond fight for subsistence, an intimate deposition of otherworldly sensations that will forever remain in our hearts.
