MIST OF MISERY - Exclusive Listening Premiere Of Absence

One of the biggest surprises in black metal fields this year comes from Swedish symphonic/dsbm trio Mist Of Misery. The band which was formed in 2010 by Mortuz Denatus and Hellstorm, is now about to release the debut album entitled Absence on 31st August via Black Lion Records. From the original line-up only Mortuz Denatus (drums, lyrics, vocals, programming) remained, and on this diabolic mission he is joined by Livsnekaren (drums, lyrics) and Erik Molnar aka Phlegathon (guitar, bass, vocals), better known from great melodic black metallers Hyperion. Since their formation, Mist Of Misery, released one EP, Temple Of Stilled Voices, in 2013 as a self-release, which was in 2015 re-released by Black Lion Records.

The forthcoming album Absence is a huge step forward for the band, especially in terms of production, song writing, lyrical depth and overall atmosphere. Absence is as well highly accessible album, it's captivating, very cinematic with lush atmospheric sound. Mist of Misery has entered a new phase, one that aims to evoke depressive, melancholic and ambient atmospheres in the minds of listeners at a whole new level. On this album, it was done mainly through the introduction to even more melodic and symphonic influences. The music is intended to set the listener in a different and almost meditative state of mind in order to absorb its true depth. The album consists of 9 tracks which were recorded, mixed and mastered in Forlorn Halls Studios and on various private locations in Stockholm, Sweden, between 2010 – 2016. The amazing artwork was drawn by the exceptionally talented Russian artist Alex Tartsus. You can read the album review over HERE.
