The USA-based goth-doom unit Brume has released its third full-length, Marten, via Magnetic Eye Records.
"We each have eclectic personalities and taste when it comes to music", bass player and singer Jamie McCathie writes. "While we love the heavy music that brought us together, we find metal and its sub-genres sometimes to be quite monotonous. We want to push ourselves, our songs, and our band to create something that feels like a continuation of Brume, but away from the expected 'Doom band' theme. Radiohead is one of our biggest influences. They transcend genres and, most importantly, they experiment. We decided to see where that thinking could take us. We pulled in different influences and continuously challenged each other to think differently about our writing process. We had already played with quieter, softer moments in our music and thought, what if that was the majority of this new record?"
