Portuguese gothic metal institution Heavenwood have entered a new chapter in its storied career, announcing a worldwide recording deal with Mighty Music for the release of its forthcoming full‑length, The Tarot Of The Bohemians – Part II. The album is slated to arrive later this year, with the official release date to be revealed in due time.
The signing marks a significant moment for one of Portugal’s most influential dark metal acts. Since forming in 1992, Heavenwood have carved out a reputation as pioneers of the country’s gothic metal movement, shaping its identity through atmospheric depth, emotional weight, and a distinctly melancholic signature. Over more than three decades, the band have issued several acclaimed records, performed at major festivals including Wacken Open Air, and shared stages with key names across the global metal landscape.
Founding member, guitarist, and vocalist Ricardo Dias dos Santos reflects on the partnership with Mighty Music: “I feel honoured to celebrate this record deal with Mighty Music — a moment that is extremely symbolic, representative and vital for the continuity of Heavenwood’s legacy alongside our fans from different generations and nationalities. Tak!”
The upcoming album has been mixed and mastered by Niko HK Krauss (The Old Dead Tree, Sirenia, Mercyless), whose involvement underscores the band’s continued commitment to ambitious soundscapes and international production standards. The Tarot Of The Bohemians – Part II promises to expand the conceptual and sonic universe established in its predecessor, further exploring the esoteric themes and emotional resonance that have long defined Heavenwood’s artistry.
With a legacy built on atmosphere, introspection, and unwavering creative identity, Heavenwood now stand poised to unveil the next chapter of their enduring journey — one that fans across generations will be eager to witness. Link
