The USA-based In Covert, which continues to push the boundaries of its genre with a sound that blends elements of gothic punk, noise, doom metal, and industrial, has dropped a new single/video, "Darkfields", the first from its just-announced debut album, Bleak Machinery, due on 9 May through Dune Altar.

Following the scorched-earth intensity of their previous singles, "Dead Weight" and "Death Embers", "Darkfields" is a post-punk assault laced with industrial grit, heavy guitars, and a dose of chaos. Fueled by frustration and existential dread, the track channels the mechanical oppression of Godflesh, the nihilistic noise rock of Chat Pile, and the wild-eyed energy of a young Nick Cave. Vocalist Kris Balocca's menacing snarl cuts through the frenzied wall of sound, embodying the tension and fury that fuels Bleak Machinery.
