Swedish industrial powerhouse Lizette & have dropped a modern reimagining of the Nine Inch Nails classic "The Becoming". The release marks a pointed return to the band's roots, following their acclaimed 2012 cover of "Head Like A Hole". While the original track appeared on 1994's The Downward Spiral, frontwoman Lizette von Panajott believes its themes have taken on a sharper urgency. Her decision to revisit the song was driven by the sense that society is becoming increasingly desensitised to horrors that, until recently, would have been unthinkable.

A long-standing force within Sweden's alternative scene, Lizette &'s sound is often described as a collision of Nine Inch Nails, Tori Amos, and Rammstein. Their momentum is underscored by three consecutive years of nominations for the Rockbjörnen—the country's most prominent fan-voted music award—in the "Best Metal / Rock Act", "Live Act of the Year", and "Breakthrough of the Year" categories.

Beginning her musical career in a pop‑leaning environment where her style was dismissed as "too weird", Lizette found her artistic home in the "angry, beautiful, and horrifying" landscapes of the Nine Inch Nails' mastermind, Trent Reznor. This new release bridges her early rebellion—captured in the 2012 "Head Like A Hole" tribute—and her evolution as a producer. The single was arranged, mixed, and produced by Lizette herself, and mastered by Christofer "Hoffe" Stannow at Cosmos Mastering.

Formed in the early 2000s, Lizette & is a female‑fronted industrial rock act comprising Lizette (vocals/songwriting/production), Tomas (bass), Marqz (guitar/vocals), and AleX (drums). Twice a week, Lizette and Tomas perform original material alongside rock, pop, and metal covers—ranging from Kate Bush and Alannah Myles to Sleep Token and Falling In Reverse—requested live by viewers on their Twitch channel. With five albums released to date and new material currently in the works, the band continue to push the boundaries of the genre from the land of ABBA and Meshuggah. Link
