UK dark/alternative electronic veterans Mesh continue to demonstrate the depth of their creative range with the release of their new single and accompanying video, “This World”. Far from relying solely on their trademark anthemic electronics, the duo present a widescreen, mid‑tempo piece that balances introspective melancholy with a persistent sense of tension.
Speaking about the origins of the track, Richard Silverthorn explains that its initial spark came from an unexpected moment of quiet inspiration.
“I found myself sitting at a piano, and my thoughts drifted into the realm of cinematic scores — the way those expansive pieces shape the emotional tone of a film,” he says. “That was the starting point for what eventually became ‘This World’. When Mark added the modular sequences underneath, it introduced this unsettling energy that really defined the track.”
“This World” serves as the final preview before Mesh unveil their long‑awaited new album, set for release on 27 March via Dependent Records. The single follows the previously issued “Hey Stranger”, which arrived with its own striking video and remains available for viewing over HERE.
With this latest release, Mesh once again underlines why they remain one of the most respected names in the alternative electronic scene — capable of crafting both club‑ready hits and emotionally resonant, cinematic soundscapes. Link
