Writing fuzz-filled riffs best enjoyed within the towering walls of a haunted castle, The Pale Horses conjure up a dark rock 'n' roll sound. The bewitching new single/video "Never Know" tells a tale of lust and a toxic lover and lands ahead of the debut EP Enchantress, out via Black Throne Productions on 25 October.
Rhythmically driven, the new single "Never Know" harkens to 70s metal with catchy guitar motifs and the alluring addition of shadowy vampiric vocals. The heavy atmosphere of fuzz and a touch of psychedelia bring to life the all-encompassing shroud that both delights and evokes a touch of fear for what hides in the surrounding gloom.
The band plays on themes of fear and thrills, exploring gothic horror, sex and drugs alongside counterculture, occultism and self-empowerment. 1970s heavy metal forms a primary musical influence along with rock 'n' roll rhythms and sleazy riffs loaded with fuzz. Based out of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the earliest formations of the band date back as far as the late 90s as a side project, finally coming to fruition in 2024. Enchantress is the band's first EP, produced by Zack Hollow. Link
