BLOODING MASK - Returns With A New Christmas Single/Video In Anticipation Of Fifth Album

UK based dark ethereal/esoteric project Blooding Mask, founded in June 1992 by Maethelyiah, since 2011 better known as the frontwoman of the cult British gothic rock/post-punk band The Danse Society, has returned with a new Christmas single and video, "Carol The Bells", in anticipation of Autopsy Of A Dream, the fifth album which is due to be released in March 2022. The album will seal the 30 year anniversary of what turned from a one-woman band into currently a duo featuring Maethelyiah and Paul Nash, both also part of The Danse Society.

"Carol The Bells" presents the trademark of Blooding Mask with a superb 22 voice operatic choir recorded with Maethelyiah’s huge voice range, together with Paul Nash’s keyboards and guitar. Rather than a cover, this version presents a completely rearranged version adapted for the dead, who are too often forgotten during the Christmas holidays. Hard core fans of Blooding Mask won’t be disappointed.

Maethelyiah comments: "The idea came to Paul who said less than two weeks ago "why don't we do a xmas single"? I looked at him in shock because I am not a xmas person in fact since my grandma died in 1987 I haven't done xmas. So I agreed at the condition it would be rather dark and to honour the ghosts of the dead ones who are always forgotten at this time of the year. This is a revised version where I have been rearranging the choir with my own voice recorded 22 times with Paul at keyboards and guitar. Then we thought about an awesome couple of friends we have here that have an awesome house and asked if they would let us film it. The whole lot was done in less than a week really." Link
