THE DANSE SOCIETY - Eighth Studio Album Out In March; First Single/Video Unveiled

UK's goth/post-punk/darkwave cult band The Danse Society will release their eighth studio album entitled The Loop on the 15th of March 2024. Just recently the band shared the first single/video fron the upcoming album. The live studio video teaser from The Loop is entitled “If Only You Were Listening”.

13 years since reformation and 40 years on, The Danse Society’s darkness reinvention has finally reached new heights and promises The Loop will blow your mind. “If Only You Were Listening” was recorded live at Young Thugs studio in York in summer.

The meticulous sonic loom weaves the dark trademark guitars of founder member Paul Nash blended with an 80s synth sound from the introduction of new keyboard player Steve Dickinson. Maethelyiah’s vocals take a more death-jazzed twist, while the rhythm section hammers with atmospheric power with Jack Cooper on bass and Dylan Riley on drums.

When BBC6 Radio said the new line-up is the best sound the band ever had it was no joke, and this track featuring guests on brass and percussion is a move that Paul has been meaning to develop since the release of the amazing previous album Sailing Mirrors (2020).
