Dark Music Awards 2013 Final Results: HERE!

Aeon Sable - Aequinoctium: While the dust over the Aeon Sable's last album Saturn Return hasn't completely died down, the band astonishes with another masterpiece entitled Aequinoctium. Aeon Sable became an entity of genre expanding gothic rock with their three albums and one of the most consistent acts of dark music out there. Aequinoctium is a modern album, or if you prefer mini album, that is a shame if it will be missed in each fans of dark music collection. Read a review HERE. Links: Website, Facebook

Ecnephias - Necrogod: Ecnephias were able to capture the true heavy metal spirit, gothic atmospheres, extreme metal parts, folk elements and make one hell of dark metal album. Nine tracks and intro deal with thematics taken from pre-Christian cults of the southern hemisphere of the Earth and the listener can be easily overtaken by kind of mediteranean scent and some folkish insertions. Enshine - Origin: An album that was in the making for almost two years, can make you go out this space and time with its splendid ambiances, great melodic soundscapes, strong and heavy song structures, meditative moments and solemn, yet bombastic escapades. There are moments where guitars reminds to Katatonia and there are parts where the things are similar to early Amorphis or even Paradise Lost. Enshine did a mind provoking album. Read a review HERE. Leaves' Eyes - Symphonies Of The Night: Rich in orchestrations, melodic guitar riffs and Liv Kirstine’s enchanting vocals, Symphonies Of The Night is basically what we expect it to be. The album is a mixture of intense and strong songs, with serene, yet powerful ballads. Read a review HERE. Links: Website, Facebook

Shadow Image - Kiss The Ashes: Debut album from USA based duo Shadow Image shows a perfect combination of styles defined by The Sisters Of Mercy and Christian Death. Vintage guitar sounds and challenging obscure synth passages that should not be missed by any true gothic rocker out there. Links: Website, Facebook

Vaselyne - The Fire Within: Drifting in the most obscure waters that spiritual dark wave music can offer, Vaselyne with ten tracks and one instrumental mix of the opening track offers well flowing and profound soul moving sounds. "A calling so profane, into a secret place, so tender is this warm embrace". Read a review HERE. Links: Website, Facebook

Waterglass - ...And The Bleak Shall Inherit: Waterglass build slowly on the atmosphere until reaching some kind of emotional climax and most of the songs have kind of alternative vibe, but the output is still very dark, there are parts that flirt with dark wave, classic rock, shoegaze and even a right dose of post-punk is embeded here.
