Dark Music Awards 2013 Final Results: HERE
Canis Lupus - Shape Of The Ghost: Even if this band since 2006 is not active anymore their long awaited debut album came out only now. It's a collection of songs that shows how outstanding atmospheric gothic rock this band was capable to make. Melody, rock and darkness... Absolutely one of the goth highlights in 2013. Madness Of The Night - The Asgarda: The Asgarda brings a complex compound of gothic rock and dark wave with a big impact from metal and also classical music, but not only... Such an oustanding mix of power, anger, passion, emotion and atmosphere like this album holds wasn't heard for a long time. Read a review HERE. Links: Website, Facebook
Mephisto Walz - New Apostles: Another long running band with an album dated 2013. Think that they were formed back in 1985! A vintage death rock/gothic rock album that stands the test of time with its vintage melodies and gloomy atmospheres. Moody bass lines, obscure guitar lines and great male/female vocals do the thing. Our Ceasing Voice - That Day Last November: This Austrian band with its second full-lenght album showed how to make a perfect blend of hypnotizing ambiental music, Pink Floyd-ian atmospheres and post-rock. It's like beign taken on a voyage out of the space and time. Mesmerizing and beautiful music no matter how do you look at it. Links: Website, Facebook
Përl - R(a)ve: Përls music is very hard to describe, you have progressive rock elements, post hardcore, punk, ambient, dark, post rock, doom, jazz and even some crazy trip hop sectors, everything wrapped in a kind of avantgardish style. There is potential, talent and huge amount of energy that just screams out from this band. For everyone who's searching for some authentic music. Read a review HERE. Links: Website, Facebook
Summoning - Old Mornings Dawn: Absolute masterpiece! If you've searched for a masterpiece within epic, atmospheric, and black metal music then search no more, Summoning did it! An instant classic, it can offer an amazing experience, either you are listening to it in the solitude of your room, while playing one of the Elder Scrolls instalations, walking in the nature or driving the car through some mesmerizing scenery. The Eternal - When The Circle Of Light Begins To Fade: Fifth studio album from Aussie dark rockers shows the most complex but at the same time the most emotional and elegant side of the band ever. It's like a perfect mixture of Anathema, Steven Wilson and Paradise Lost with a hint from 70's prog rock and oriental music. Technically perfect, melancholic and eternal. This is The Eternal!
