Batalion d'Amour - Fenix

Polish female fronted combo Batalion d'Amour returned among the living with their sixth album after a long time hiatus. An album that mixes synth rock, gothic and even progressive rock/metal, with a huge dose of atmosphere and catchy pop melodies offers sometimes an otherworldy sonic experience. Clouds - Departe

Departe is without any doubt one of those albums that brings that necessary gloom and emotion into doom metal genre. This is one of the best doom metal albums released in 2016, if not in the last five or something years. When listening to Clouds is like to lose yourself in a grievous journey through paths of desolation, anguish and despair. Sojourner - Empires Of Ash

Those of you who are tired of waiting for the next album of Summoning or Caladan Brood should pay some attention to this one. Empires Of Ash brings seven epic folk tunes inspired by nature and fantasy tales that are carefully carved in black metal sound. Empires Of Ash is a consistent album, a harmonic one, full of magic, atmosphere and melancholy. Even though this is a debut album for this band it sounds like we deal with some veterans. Terra Tenebrosa - The Reverses

The Reverses is an unique piece of organized chaos, a cinematic journey, one of the most evil soundscapes ever. The Cuckoo and his tenebrous partners made a cohesive sulphurous creation that walks a thin line between chaos and order. Terra Tenebrosa did their best album so far, it's not for everybody, it's love it or hate it thing, and absolutely for those who want to be embraced by absolute darkness. A chaotic masterpiece! Todtgelichter - Rooms

The new offering from this German band is again one very bold release, worth the name Todtgelichter, who are without any doubt one of rare bands that is not afraid to do original things. Todtgelichter with this album are on a mission to take the throne of avantgarde metal. Rooms is one of the most elaborated albums this band did so far, it's dark enough, it embraces with kind of shifts between coldness and warmth. LINK / REVIEW / LISTEN

Wildernessking - Mystical Future

Wildernessking in formal tones are now is alliance with the contemporary post-black metal movement; and where their previous efforts offered some small intimation of their passage beyond black metal‘s tired, traditional idiom, all the concomitant, musical cues and elements appear on their latest offering, and in unabashed abundance: from the frantic, swirling, stampeding immediacy of its nascent moments, to the steady, unfurling euphoria to which it eventually succumbs, only to crescendo in bold reprise at the last – triumphant!
