US shoegaze/dream pop duo Chainlacing have shared the second video single, "Simulacra", from their debut album, Messuage, set to land on 19 June via These Hands Melt on vinyl, CD and digital format.

Speaking about the new single, the duo explain: "Inspired by the lush rural landscapes of northern New England. A lyrical and textural examination of the fabric of memory and our innate need to have a meaningful connection to our collective past".

Messuage was composed and performed by founding members Lauren Crosser and Rick Martel. Chainlacing began in New Hampshire, where Lauren would travel from Boston to record guitar ideas in Rick's home studio. Their creative bond gravitates towards lo‑fi ambient guitar and synthesisers, melodic drones, reverb‑laden textures, and the shadowy edges of shoegaze, goth, and industrial—often captured on 4‑track recorders.

The project has recently expanded into a full live ensemble with the addition of Joe Streeter (Have A Nice Life), Nick Watter (Slow Quit), and Dan Hartel (Still Life Sounds). Together, Chainlacing have cultivated an immersive stage presence that merges the weight of funereal doom with the atmospheric haze of shoegaze and the emotional vulnerability of dream pop and folk.
