Autumns Eyes - Ending Life Slowly

Ending Life Slowly is Autumns Eyes best work to date, it has more depth, more atmosphere, better structured compositions, more emotions, it's more dynamic and versatile, it has better vocal job than anything Daniel Mitchell did before. The ambiance is often very thick, gloomy, deeply wistful and it has kind of a horror feeling, while the instrumental side is so very rich and dense when most needed. This album is something that every fan of gothic metal should be craving for.

Chelsea Wolfe - Hiss Spun

Following her acclaimed 2015 album Abyss, Hiss Spun is at once dynamic, heavy, and raw. The album was conceived as an emotional purge, a means of coming to terms with the tumult of the outside world by exploring the complexities of one’s inner unrest. Every Chelsea Wolfe album is cathartic, but never before has both the artist and her audience so desperately needed this kind of emotional purging. She's digging beneath the mess of the world to find the beauty underneath.

Sólstafir - Berdreyminn

Sólstafir offers to the world their sixth album named Berdreyminn, another chapter, another piece of the puzzle with which we are invited on the journey to explore the magical sonic world that only these four guys can offer. On this ever evolving musical journey are many upbeat parts with dirty post-rocking driving guitars. Sometimes they are inserting some strange elements, but they are never exagerating, so the soundscapes are always very flowing, pretty comfortable, almost unearthly.

Sun Of The Sleepless - To The Elements

Those of you who are familiar with Schwadorf's other bands (Empyrium, The Vision Bleak, Ewigheim,...), will certainly know that this man doesn't leave in his music anything to coincidence, rather than that he strives to achive always kind of a dark aura and mood, and the same thing is with Sun Of The Sleepless. Sun Of The Sleepless invites into darkened icy cold world of shadows and murky dimensions with this addictive majestic piece of blackened music.

The Crawling - Anatomy Of Loss

One of the most interesting newcomers to the doom/death metal scene must be the Northern Ireland based trio The Crawling. The Crawling strive to spread their brand of misery ever further with their own brand of old school doom metal darkness. The Crawling use a guttural vocal to combine melancholy with weight, churning out a heavy, doom/death ensemble, offering a collection of stories about loss, regret and despondency.

Ulver - The Assassination Of Julius Caesar

Some bands or artists are simply meant to push the borders forward. Musically this is Ulver's pop album and is placed in the 80s synth-wave, new wave and synth-pop, but it's not that simple, Ulver added kind of primordial electronic stuff. But Ulver stay loyal to their uncompromising dark nature and the wolfish soul is cleary evident. Ulver's thirteenth album is a majestical, lets say dark pop album, which reinvents the term "pop" and adds some completely new terms to it.

Vvilderness - Devour The Sun

Devour The Sun is an opulent selection of magical synths, various samples, analogue sounds, visionaries soundscapes with delightful melodies. In Devour The Sun this genius, Ferenc Kapiller, dives deep into the atmospheric field of black metal aligned with post-black metal and supreme blackgaze. In all senses, all the artwork, his dexterity to write emotive music and soul touching lyrics is just jaw-dropping.
